NAMING CONTEST
A new hotshop with spectator seating opened in mid-June 2026 in Nuutajärvi, Finland’s oldest glass village. Throughout the planning and construction process, it was simply called the “new hotshop” — practical, but not particularly creative or memorable. Now it’s time to give it a permanent name.
Everyone who submits a name suggestion will be entered into a drawing to win a hotel and dining package in the Nuutajärvi Glass Village. The prize includes a one-night stay for two in a double room at Kylähotelli 1793 with breakfast, as well as a dining gift card to Pruuki Bistro (total value approximately €200).
Submit your suggestion by 31 July 2026 using the form below. Background stories and explanations for your proposed name are highly encouraged! Some of the hotshops in Nuutajärvi have carried names such as Lasikomppania’s hotshot (Lasikomppanian hytti), Takolasi hotshot (Takolasin hytti), the Old Hotshop (Vanha hytti), and Hakahytti.
If you have more than one suggestion, please submit all of them using the same form.
By submitting a name suggestion, you agree that Nuutajärven Lasi may use your proposed name as the building’s official name in the future. You also agree that Nuutajärven Lasi may publish your suggestion anonymously in its communication channels after the contest has ended.
